According to estimates, India produces 1600 billion meters of denim annually. 800–900 are used domestically. At least 18% (288 billion meter) of garment fabric goes to landfills each year. Statement Denim's goal is to use 18% of the resource to waste as it uses a lot of raw material and makes a lot of carbon footprint. Fabric and garment production requires a lot of energy and effort. Denim uses lots of natural resources. Cotton is one of the thirstiest fashion fabrics, and WRAP estimates that 69% of textile fiber production's water impact is cotton. Statement Denim reuses denim fabrics destined for waste rather than making new ones. Waste is only waste when wasted.
