The event which aims to create a knowledge-sharing platform in which innovators/startups pan India will come and showcase their innovations in the presence of policymakers, experts and funding organizations. Also, awards/citations will be given to student start-ups, Innovators, Academic Institutions and incubators during the event. Creating new opportunities, building partnerships and inspiration to the new generation is the motto of the event.
SSIP has created a wide range of incentives for innovators and start-ups. It has been seen that institutes across the states are now taking concrete measures to implement the policy mandate. To benchmark the best performing innovators/start-ups, Institutions, Mentors, Enablers and other contributors annually so that it will further evangelize the cause. This will instil a culture of excellence in the ecosystem and drive collaborative competition. While best practices and innovations will be scouted through this, they can be benchmarks of others. Awards are given in the following categories:

This plenary entails a panel discussion with ministers from various states sharing their knowledge on the efforts made to boost the startup ecosystem of their respective states. The panelists will emphasize on the importance of innovation and the startup ecosystem as a whole and at the state level leading to the incorporation of policies in states to support innovations and entrepreneurship. The panel will also discuss how the states are leveraging the ‘Make in India’ theme encouraging manufacturing and product development in India itself. Strategies to promote Women Entrepreneurship in the state will also be covered. Several other points will also be discussed such as the importance of the development of a point/grade system for the students involved in startup simultaneously with their academics and the development of policies to empower students in skill development promoting the initiative ‘Skill India’.

This plenary entails panel discussion with the Policy Champions of the country. All the policy champions in the panel are secretaries serving different state governments. The Policy Champions will share about their policies and strategies made to revamp and encourage the building of the startup ecosystem in their states. Panelists will discuss the policies made in their respective states on how to boost up the least developing industry domain. The panel discussion will also include the importance of the promotion of IP amongst students/startups through various schemes, various strategies to ease the co-creation with industry and academia. The plenary will also entail discussion on adaption or co-creation in the startup and innovation ecosystem with other respective states, strategies to introduce the culture of entrepreneurship in teachers and faculties of schools and colleges respectively, and also how can we imbibe the culture of innovation and startups in the non-technical background students.

This panel includes the senior officers of the government, termed as ‘GovPreneurs’. The panelists will discuss how academia and youth can play a key role and contribute to national and regional growth, how academia at school college, and another level can promote creativity and innovation, and how the innovation economy will hold the key to India's growth and how we could learn from other advanced startup ecosystems will also be talked upon. Challenges faced while implementing and the impact generated by such policies at the ground level will also be discussed. Also, how Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) in the field of entrepreneurship can be instrumental in guiding and mentoring the budding innovators in the startup ecosystem.

This panel will consist of eminent speakers from academia. The panel will discuss the importance of incorporating entrepreneurship as a compulsory subject in schools and colleges and thus, promoting Entrepreneurship and innovation amongst the students. How Design Thinking can be instrumental in enhancing the critical thinking capabilities of all the students will also be touched upon. Several other important topics like collaboration between startups and the industries, upgrading the structure of different subjects as per the industrial standards will be discussed. Also, ways to promote innovation and startup culture in students from non-technical backgrounds and also promoting skill development in the students at the institute level are of importance to be discussed in the academia panel.

This panel will involve various angel investors from across the country to guide on the basics of angel investment and Do’s and Dont’s for startups approaching the investors for early-stage fundings. The panel will also host the best of the startups from Gujarat state who will do demo pitching in front of the investors panel. The panel for Industry-Startup co-creation will host several industrial experts briefing on the importance of collaboration between industries and startups, its benefits to both the parties, gaps or challenges in such collaborations in India, and how with collective efforts, these can be overcome. The panel will also discuss the strategies on how to promote open innovation by collaborating with other industries/corporates. The panel will also discuss the success rate of corporate/startup co-creation in India and on a global scale and how can we, as a country, level up that success rate? Also, how the government plays a role in the co-creation between startup and industry/corporate will also be discussed.
