Filament-less direct nozzle 3D printer

According to a Central Pollution Control Board report, India generates a staggering 25,940 tons of plastic waste daily. Unfortunately, a large portion of this waste, approx. 80% never reach a recycling facility. This is primarily due to the challenges faced during the collection, segregation, and transportation. However, our proposed system overcomes these limitations through onsite recycling of waste plastic. Our proposed prototype is a consolidated unit comprised of a shredder, extruder, and 3D printer. Shredder tears the waste plastic into small pieces, then fed into a thermal screw unit through a hopper. Plastic pieces are melted and pushed through a nozzle. The molten plastic is then deposited layer by layer, using 3D printing, to create various products, such as planters, automotive parts, etc., from waste plastic. Thereby creating a waste-circular economy. The main objective is to develop clean and sustainable solutions for the problem of waste plastics.
