Bone graft are used in various dental and orthopaedic treatments such as implants, etc. Bone graft would be preferred over synthetic graft owing to following reasons: • Autologous bone graft decreases the risk of graft rejection. • In dentistry, patients own tooth is used as a graft material and thus it reduces the cost to the patient in compared to the synthetic graft with other added advantages. • The natural tooth used as a graft contains osteoblast cells which have more osteogenic potential in addition to osteoconductive and osteoinductive potential. Our innovation is a novel semi-automatic indigenous machine, which can provide two different sized particles for the graft at the same time. The grinder jar can be further substituted with a rotor to help separate Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) fraction from the whole blood which is also often used in dental procedures with or without the graft material. Thus our machine is a low cost, user friendly machine.
